1. McLean Metro Station (Red Route)

Start and end the Red Route at the McLean Station entrance on the south side of Dolley Madison Blvd. McLean Station is one of Tysons’ four Metrorail stations.

Directions to Your Next Check-In:

  1. Head towards the Capital Bikeshare Station, located in the center of the Kiss & Ride Parking lot

  2. Continue through the parking lot and make a right onto Chain Bridge Rd.

  3. Walk across the bridge, and just on the far side of the bridge

  4. Use the crosswalk to reach the Scott’s Run Trail entrance and your next check-in.

2. Scotts Run Trail & Chain Bridge Rd

Opened in 2021, the Scott’s Run Trail is a charming (and winding!) community connector linking the Pimmit Hills neighborhood, Westgate Elementary, and the McClean Metrorail Station. Search the trees for some local wildlife and enjoy the views over Scott’s Run!

Directions to Your Next Check-In:

  1. Follow the Scotts Run trail all the way to the end until you reach Magarity Rd.

  2. Turn left towards Anderson Rd.

5. Corner of Anderson Rd & Chain Bridge Rd

Home to many of Tysons’ newest buildings, this section of Tysons East has more than 10 office and residential projects in the development pipeline, all just a short walk from the McLean Metro. Keep walking to see what’s in store for this urban street. Across the street, TCA is working with the U.S. Soccer Foundation and VIKA to install a mini-pitch soccer field, which will serve as a community hub to activate this space as longer-term development progresses.

Directions to Your Next Check-In:

  1. Turn left at Chain Bridge Rd and walk towards the buildings ahead.

  2. At Colshire Dr, use the crosswalks to get over to the Archer Hotel on the diagonal corner.

6. Chain Bridge Rd & Colshire Dr

You don’t have to be a guest at Archer Hotel to experience the flavors at the AKB in the hotel lobby. It is also one of the places you can use the $300 Experience Tysons gift card you are working towards!

  1. Walk North on Colshire Dr, past the bus shelters, and towards the Silver Line tracks.

  2. Use the pedestrian button and crosswalk to cross Dolley Madison Blvd at street level.

  3. Continue to your next check-in by the Wegmans on Capital One Dr.

7. Scotts Crossing Dr & Capital One Dr

You are just steps from Wegmans, Capital One Field, and great restaurants and public spaces at Capital One Center. From here, you can also see construction coming along on two urban parks straddling Scotts Crossing Dr. Once complete, the parks and a new entrance to McLean Station will give a warm welcome to visitors, employees, and residents!

  1. Continue walking past the Wegmans on Scotts Crossing Dr

  2. Turn left at Capital One Dr

  3. Check the Capital One Center sign for local attractions

  4. Find your next check-in at the corner of Capital One Dr and Capital One Tower Rd

8. Capital One Dr & Capital One Tower Rd

Home to Capital One Hall, a rooftop public park called the Perch that also has mini golf, award-winning restaurants, and public art around every corner, Capital One Center is a walkable hub for urban art and culture.

Directions to Your Next Check-In:

  1. Cross Capital One Tower Rd to continue west on Capital One Center Dr.

  2. Walk towards the planted roundabout down the block.

  3. At the roundabout, take a couple of left turns to follow Capital One Drive around.

  4. At the next intersection of Capital One Tower Dr, cross to the right toward the Metro

  5. You'll find your check-in point on the corner, diagonally across from Star Hill Brewery.

9. Capital One Dr S & Capital One Tower Rd

You are almost there! Excuse the dust while construction continues on a future urban park and new Metro entrance.

Directions to Your Next Check-In:

  1. Cross Capital One Tower Rd.

  2. Turn right to walk under the Silver Line tracks.

  3. Find your next check-in just under the tracks at the corner of Dolley Madison Blvd.

10. Capital One Tower Pl & Dolley Madison Blvd

This is the final check-in before you return to the start point. McLean Station is the easternmost Silver Line station in Tysons. As you enter the station, look for “Voyagers,” an art installation by Martin Donlin, of painted glass panels and etched poetry, representing both the physical and cognitive idea of travel and transportation.

Directions:

  1. To close the loop on the Red Route

  2. Turn left at Dolley Madison Blvd and head back to the station where you started.
