Directions to your next check-in: Beginning at the Spring Hill Station Kiss & Ride, cross Spring Hill Rd and walk south along Leesburg Pike. Use caution at driveway entrances. At Westpark Dr, turn right and look for your next check-in about half way up the block.
This wide and landscaped urban trail is one of the first completed sections of the planned Tysons Community Circuit, which will one day encircle and connect Tysons neighborhoods to offer convenient and comfortable trips by foot and bike.
Across Westpark Dr is Tysons Tales Park, a reading-themed pop-up park with colorful seating and plenty of shade to knock out a chapter or two. Look up the hill towards the mural for an overview of The Boro. It is a major hub of activity in Tysons with apartments, offices, retail and dining, all connected by walkable streets and bustling public spaces, just steps from the Greensboro Metro. With more in the development pipeline, what you see is just the beginning!
Directions to your next check-in: Continue on Westpark Dr past The Trillium to find your next check-in at Boro Pl.
Boro Pl is one of many new streets expanding Tysons’ grid of walkable streets. Here at Westpark Dr, a new enhanced pedestrian crossing, also called a HAWK signal, helps pedestrians and residents of the nearby senior apartments cross Westpark Dr safely.
Directions to your next check-in: Push the button to activate the HAWK signal, wait for traffic to stop, and cross Westpark Dr. Walk south on Boro Pl past the Whole Foods, cross Silver Hill Dr, and continue through the plaza. Find your next check-in at Solutions Dr.
Directions to your next check-in: Turn right at Solutions Dr and left at Greensboro Station Pl to walk towards the Greensboro Metro. Cross the street towards the station entrance, but turn left before entering the station and follow the path and stairs up the hill to find a great vantage point for the mural and your next check-in.
This mural, named “Tysons Luxury Lilies” was created by Lawrence “Naturel” Atoigue and commissioned by the Tysons Community Alliance. The mural is roughly 25 by 100 feet and was covered in 10 gallons of exterior stucco house paint, before adding details using around 100 cans of spray paint. It was launched in 2016 as part of a placemaking effort by Tysons Partnership which is now known as Tysons Community Alliance.
The mural, located on a wall owned by Beacon Capital Partners, was inspired by Claude Monet’s “Water Lily” series.
Directions to your next check-in: Proceed on the path up the hill, which becomes William Tyson St and turn left on Pinnacle Dr to find your next check-in.
Say hello to the Tysons Water Tower, which helps keep water pressure high in Tysons and McLean.
Directions to your next check-in: Continue on Pinnacle Dr to International Drive. At the intersection, turn right and to cross Chain Bridge Rd. Take an immediate right onto Chain Bridge Rd Service Rd. Walk towards the REI sign in the distance for your next check-in.
Surprise! Did you know that REI was hiding here? As the only bike shop within the Tysons Urban Boundary, REI is a great place to bring your bike in for maintenance.
Directions to your next check-in: Turn left at Watson St. At International Drive, use the crosswalk to reach the Mall. Look for your next check-in straight ahead, between the construction entrance and Bloomingdale’s.
You’ve earned a pleasant indoor walk!
